| Founded on August 9th, 1990, by Tom Benson, Brooks Hogya, and Gord Ross, the corporation, Slipstream Adventures Ltd., grew to be one of the top providers of outdoor vacations and educational programs based on the west coast of Canada, with field operations taking place from British Columbia and Alberta to South America.
Active in the outdoors for most of their lives, the three partners felt that the "market" would recognize and value a higher standard in quality and delivery of both guiding services and instructional programs. Based on the premise of quality before quantity, Slipstream initially offered guided backpacking trips on the West Coast Trail, Strathcona Park, Carmanah Valley, and rock-climbing instruction. Stringent standards, supported by intensive training (both in-house and external) set the stage for the development of one of the strongest and most successful guiding teams in North America. |
